  1. Sparkle!

The festive season is the time of glistening baubles and twinkling lights so why not get involved by adding a bit of sparkle to your beauty regime? The possibilities for sparkle are plenty! If at first you’re feeling sceptical, ease yourself in by using an eye shadow infused with a bit of glitter, this will subtly add a sheen to the eye lids and give you that Christmassy feel. For those who feel a bit braver why not try adding a bit of sparkle to the lips, it’s the perfect festive look for a Christmas night out.

  1. Red red red!

Red is a classic lip colour that will never go out of style. It is the go-to shade for all seasons, but with the reds and greens that surround Christmas time, red lips don’t suit any other season more perfectly.

  1. White Christmas

Open up your eyes by adding a bit of white eye liner or eye shadow to the inner corners. The light colour contrasts with the darkness of mascara and deeper eye shadow colours and gives the effect of wider eyes. This will highlight the colour of your eyes and complexion during the holiday season.

  1. Winged liner

There's something about a touch of wing at the end of your basic black eyeliner that's so much more festive. And you can take this look from enjoying holiday dinner at Grandma's house to late-night drinks with old friends with just a few simple steps!

  1. Pucker up!

'Tis the season for bold lips, but no one wants lipstick-smudged collars or cheeks. Keep your colour where it belongs, and blot your lips after applying, then place the tissue over your lips, dip a fluffy brush in invisible setting powder and tap over the tissue. The powder absorbs any extra moisture and keeps your look from smearing.

  1. Skin like snow

You want to look flawless day and night, so applying foundation the right way helps it last for hours. It's all about layering, start with a primer, then work concealer under your eyes, and finish with sheer powder to set. Touch up as needed for a long-lasting look. And don't forget to hydrate your skin from the inside with lots of water!

  1. Tired eyes

All those nights partying is bound to leave even the youngest eyes looking tired. To make sure you stay looking bright and alert over Christmas give yourself a little eye massage to get rid of puffy eyes. Begin at the corner of one of your eyes and work your way up between your brow bone and your eye, rubbing as you go until you reach the outer edge of your eye. Repeat along your lower lash line. Also, be careful about where you apply your blusher as applying it too high can make you look tired.

  1. Perfect ten

A nude nail is always a classic. And for dress-up purposes during the festive season, even the most neutral of polish with just a hint of shimmer takes it from subtle to festive.

  1. Be prepared

Don’t get caught throwing your arms in the air at the Christmas party and realising you have forgotten to wax your underarms! The horror! Not only is the festive season the best time to book all your appointments ahead of time to ensure you are smooth head to toe- it’s also ‘summer summer summer tiiime’ so you never know when you might just want to rock those booty shorts!

  1. Spray Tan

  1. Bronzer!

It’s Christmas! Go for shimmer! Brush the bronzer where you would naturally find the sun tanning your face for a healthy glow. Use highlighter on the bridge of the nose, under the eyebrows, on the top of the cheekbones and a little on the cupids bow, just above the lips to give the illusion of a delicious pout.
